About armbinder and monoglove
Monoglove (or armbinder) is commonly used BDSM device specially designed for bondage play. The main function of monoglove is to bind the hands and arms close to each other, normally behind the back, and implementing other BDSM tools and toys like handcuffs, restraining rods, leather straps and others.
Many people think that armbinders and monogloves are the same thing, but armbinder describes a wider range of devices used during bondage action. Monoglove is just one type of many armbinders.
Normal form of armbinder consists of a tube, slightly conical, that wraps both of bondage subject's arms, binding them tightly behind the back. Monoglove is usually equipped with a harness to fix it in place. Armbinder usually covers the arms from the very fingertips to slight above the elbows. Monoglove can be closed and tightened with a zipper or rope lacing.
Some of binding devices can be empowered with additional straps to hold the wrists, elbows or even upper arms. Armbinder itself can be taken off easily without a harness to keep it in place. With this harness monoglove is safe from slipping down. Normally harness is made of a pair of straps that starts at the top of the monoglove, then goes over the shoulders (under armpits) and then connects the inner top of the device. Those straps can be crossed at the top of the person back (or the upper chest) to save straps from slipping off the shoulders.
Armbinders (and monogloves) are made of common BDSM materials like leather, spandex or rubber. Denim, twill, satin, and other strong fabrics can be used when making monoglove at home.
